Tamera Begay is a government and legislative affairs associate for the Navajo Nation Washington Office. Tamera is from Crownpoint, N.M. and her clans are Áshįįhí (Salt Clan), born for Naałání (Plains People). Her maternal grandfathers are Kinyaa"áanii (Towering House) and her paternal grandfathers are Bilagáana (Anglo). She was a legal fellow at the National Congress of American Indians, working on VAWA, Juvenile Justice, TLOA, and the ICWA.Tamera will be working on Public Safety, VAWA, and Taxation. She was a legal fellow at the National Congress of American Indians, working on VAWA, Juvenile Justice, TLOA, and the ICWA. She graduated from Michigan State University College of Law with a J.D. and certificate in Indigenous Law and Policy. She is a citizen of the Navajo.
