Senate panel to consider Utah Water Settlement bill, hold an oversight hearing on broadband Internet availability on Tribal Lands

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs will consider two bills at its business meeting on Oct. 3 at 2:30 p.m., Eastern Time, including S 664, the Navajo Utah Water Rights Settlement Act of 2017 and HR 5317, a bill that would repeal section 2141 of the revised statutes to remove the prohibition on certain alcohol manufacturing on Indian lands. A committee oversight hearing titled “GAO Reports Relating to Broadband Internet Availability on Tribal Lands” will immediately follow the business meeting.
