Interior Department Announces $2.5 million to Promote Tribal Control and Operation of BIE-Funded Schools

Comprehensive Community-Based Reentry Program Utilizing Mentors fiscal 2014 Grant

• The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is seeking applications for funding under the Second Chance Act for mentoring grants to nonprofit organizations and Indian tribes. The program provides services and programs to help facilitate the successful reintegration of formerly incarcerated individuals as they return to their communities.

Violent Gang and Gun Crime Reduction Program (Project Safe Neighborhoods)

• USDOJ, Office of Justice Programs (OJP), and Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA)  are seeking applications for funding under the Violent Gang and Gun Crime Reduction Program, also known as Project Safe Neighborhoods. The program furthers DOJ’s mission and violent crime reduction strategy by providing support to state, local, and tribal efforts to reduce gun and gang-related violent crime.

Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation Program FY14 Competitive Grant Announcement

• USDOJ, Office of Justice Programs (OJP), and Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) are seeking applications from eligible entities to plan and implement place-based, community oriented strategies to address targeted crime issues within a neighborhood as a part of a broader neighborhood revitalization initiative.
